During this project, students created an animal cell model by using ziplock bags to represent the cell membrane and other household items to represent the different types of cell organelles
After collecting soil and water samples from Lake Merritt, students took turns using microscopes to identify different microorganisms living inside of the lake.
In Jack London's "The Call of the Wild," Buck had a dream of a hairy, short-legged primitive man, who was curled beside the fire, in fear of his surroundings, and alert of everything around him. Three exemplar student dioramas of this passage are seen below.
During Black History month, students wrote a one-page news report and an illustration of a prominent African-American figure from the past. Afterwards, the drawings were combined and stitched together to make a single Black History Month quilt.
